Understanding you, guiding your care.

Taking the first step toward mental health care can bring questions and uncertainty. At Kinn Health & Wellness, a psychiatric evaluation offers a welcoming space to talk about what you have been experiencing, explore your concerns and understand your options for support.

What Is a Psychiatric Evaluation?

A psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of your mental and emotional health. It brings together information about your symptoms, medical history, personal experiences and daily life to help your provider understand your needs and recommend appropriate care.
Whether you are seeking help for the first time or looking for a fresh perspective on existing concerns, the evaluation provides a starting point for your treatment.

How to prepare

Choose a quiet, private space for your telehealth appointment and check that your device’s camera, microphone, and internet connection are working. It can help to have the following ready:

  • A list of medications and supplements you take
  • Details of previous mental health treatment
  • Notes about your symptoms, including when they began
  • Questions or goals you would like to discuss
  • Relevant medical records

There is no need to prepare a perfect explanation. Share what you can, at a pace that feels comfortable.
